Have now got 32 Down - had one last look at my list of anagrams, followed up one of them. Not the best Spectator crossword!

I'm in the same position as Chips.

I can't think what the first letter of 32d can be. I have only got two possible unused anagrams and can't fit them to 32d?
Help please.

Rosie - 32 Down relates to an anagrammed word that doesn't have its own entry in Chambers, because it's the plural of a word that appears in Chambers. The anagrammed word ends in 'a'. Is this any help?

Thanks Chips I thought it may be that one but discounted it when it wasn't in Chambers.

Thanks again.

I've finished - well, I think I have! I'm not sure of 38 Across, but have put in the only word that fits. I don't know which anagrammed word this refers to - and I guess I don't have to. Can anyone tell me what letter the anagram begins with, so I can reason it out? Thanks.
This post will seem very odd if you don't have the crossword.

After too many wasted hours over the years, Dumpynose/Pseudonym has shown me the light with this clever but annoying puzzle. There have to be better ways of spending the time that remains to me than grubbing though Chambers for obscure words that nobody uses. Thanks to everyone for the unacknowledged assistance. My slogan from now on is from Poe's raven: NEVER MORE!

All finished, but what is the relevance of the title?
