Have now got some of the unclued answers - 1A,12A,23A and 7D.

Thanks, I'd got that - but my list doesn't help me with 8 Across. Am now thinking I've gone wrong with one of the letters, and it's most likely to be from 8 Down. Am away to rub out letters, have another look.

It's unclued, linked to an anagram of a 6-letter word. I don't want to spoil this for others - but I'm tired of staring at this and looking into all the permutations of the anagram. Can/will anyone help?
