40a RICE can mean brushwood but I don't "see" the island??

Thanks - 'tinning' looks perfect. Still swithering over 'rice'.
Because of 'tinning' and 'siler'(from an earlier post), 21 Down (unclued) looks very odd - ??rm?ii??
