Why do I always forget Everyman’s matching pair?
Lots of witty misdirection this week.

It’s a new word for me. I worked it out and then looked it up. I like your idea of WOD.

Could I please ask for guidance as to how to approach a few clues please?

16a
19a
24a

I’m hoping that if I can get those it might allow me to finish.

Hi druh6sm. 24a parses as 1,3, with 1 being given in the clue, and 3 being (a bit loosely in my opinion) a sort of "venture". Definition is a legal term, to do with assisting a criminal act. Can't help with your other too - I'm still to solve them!

Cymru and Jono 22d is used metaphorically (at least where I come from!) to mean addled or confused as in "I'm all ---- with this crossword..."

Took me a ridiculously long time to get LOI 8d, being a Welshman (still starting from snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at Twickenham yesterday) & therefore the wrong sort of Celt!

Otherwise pretty straightforward & fun Sunday brainteaser, thanks to Everyman.

druh6sm 16a. First 4 letters, think “bridge”

druh6sm 19a. Four letters = large, as in a **** sum. Make that into largest

Pretty standard fare for Everyman. I must be getting better because I have finished the last 3 or 4 without having to come to this forum.

@offspin, I always forget the rhyming pair when I am making steady progress, but when I do get really stuck, it is a useful way back in sometimes.

That and the ever reliable primarily.

Finished this one in record time (for me!).
Thank goodness those infuriating spoonerisms seem to have disappeared.
