So I'm trying to tackle this section by section. There's an obvious answer to 2d but I can't make it parse with sausage.

Rocky, 2d is thematic so three letters are not clued. The first word is probably not the first word that comes to mind. You have to treat sausage and rump the same way.

I enjoyed this, but have one instance of puzzlement: I have consecutive trios in both 8 and 9, which contradicts the rubric. Any thoughts?
