Loubyloo; 6d was my LOI, and I also didn't understand the parsing (I simply couldn't see what the Australian Navy had to do with it, or invaders for that matter!)
So, many thanks to Jazzgirl for explaining all that!

Quite a good one for me today (I know it’s only just today but I’m in Montreal on holiday & jazz festival), I completed it all without hints although I was lost on the parsing of 6d, many thanks Jazzgirl.
Thanks to Everyman and have a good week all. We’re promised a special large Brendan next Saturday, I might have completed Paul’s offering yesterday by then!

Thanks, jazzgirl: I had the solution to 6d but couldn't fathom the syntax till you kindly parsed it for us!
All done now, but I still can't account for the second "M" in 18ac. Anyone care to explain?

Hi David,
The last 3 letters are not an anagram of tea, but rather the last 4 letters (including that M) are a word for a tea-like infusion.
