chrise

Hi jono
14 yes I went with S, but a "mover and shaker" should be an R, surely?
20 I hadn't spotted the anagram - I was just using the C and S.

chrise - maybe S because mover and shaker are two things? I’m not sure about it either!

As others have said, a nice, gentle puzzle but I have come to a halt with 19d - I have an answer that fits the (last word) def but can't parse at all. help appreciated.
FOI and COD - 8 - I love that little song.

Not my area of expertise so had to Google a couple of the names but quite a clever crossword from Brendan. On the easier side I would say.

My only problem is 2d. I can think of possibly two singers that fit the crossers but neither really parses.

Out of respect for both Roof and my own mental health, no mention of football today.

2d parses 3,1

you have to be quite old to remember some of these!

It was a fairly old singer I was thinking of Chrise but now I realise this one is quite modern.

That's all done now.

COD I think I'm going for 8a but there were many candidates.

Pauly, I think 19d parses court (2) surrounded by make more concrete (5), definition is right (verb). Chin up Rocky, it ain't over til it's over.

I sailed through most of this so it must be reasonably straightforward! My dad was a jazz fan so I managed to dredge up a lot of the names. Stuck on 22a though, LOI and I just can't see it. What's the definition I'm looking for please? Thanks all
