Thanks to those who gave me hints. I can see only one word for for the food in 51 and I understand the 'fast' part; I presume 'poor' refers to an anagram of an abbreviation for 'pensioner' but I don't see the neeed for 'old'.

Not necessarily so. My husband retired at age 51 on a company pension, so in actuality a pensioner but not an old age one.
