Seems to be a big variation in the difficulty of the EV recently - tough last week, very straightforward this week - I finished it in one sitting. A hopefully relevant comment: 'Well, nobody's perfect!' lol

Just a few to go. I could do with a hint for 3d - f*rc*

For the 4th actor I have WIL*ER. There was Douglas Wilmer who was a great Sherlock Holmes. Was he in an American film? The missing letter could be b,d,m or t or maybe others.

I havent got the phrase yet but am getting closer. I am trying to understand gazzar's hint

Jigjag, you haven't given the clue for 3 D and I no longer have my copy. The answer is a French word, meaning 'stuffed' - as in something you would do in cooking.
Gazzar's hint didn't mean anything to me - probably because I've never seen the film!

Gazzar, I was quite disappointed with this EV. I prefer more of a tussle!

thanks again - is it farci - giving azoic going across?

if it is, I am pleased to say I have finished it - except not sure about the phrase. I have got

S*ME*AKE*TH*T

could be Some bake/make/take it hot - gazzar's hint not helping.

I cant parse natrium - whats in brief at number 11, although I know Sodium is that Atomic No.
