OK, I gave it an extra hour; time to wrap it up. I thought this would be a hard one to clue but should have known better. There were some charming touches. I thought mattrom's ball fetcher and skyewalker's woofer especially endearing. Our winner is ixion with his excellent:

Here’s your prize. This movie was filmed a mile or two from my house; I would sometimes see the crew outside the train station on my way to work. The title made it sound like a bit of fluff, but I didn’t realize that it was directed by Lasse Hallstrom. I happened to watch it several years after its release and found that although it’s a real tearjerker it’s also quite beautiful. My wife doesn’t want to see it again because she cried her eyes out.
