Since Brendan had kindly cleared my confusion over 3d, I'd got this.
Couldn't see it, because was blinded by the need to fit with what I thought was SCANDIC.

I've got the theme and a few titles now, but have a clash in the bottom right.
I've got 32a) beginning EGF _ _ _ but no word begins EGF as far as I know.
Yet 21d, 28d and 29d all seem to parse and fit. I suspect my error is in 28d, yet the nagara drum shortened gives me a word which does allude to George Harrison's inspiration.

Clashing Clue is:
32a) One finds these insects grow, developing large forewings.

Hi jazzlover, look back to post #3. As you suspect your 28d is wrong.

32 was answered/dealt with earlier - check the other thread as I can't remember the details! The G is definitely wrong. 28 Down is Tabla, with the B, bass, removed.

I've finished without bothering with the supplementary clues. Have I missed something vital?

As for drawing a line through the cells, I think the key words in the preamble are "containing its letters"; ie the letters don't have to be in the right order. So I get a slightly odd representation of a letter, being a cryptic representation of the missing word.

Orson, my letters ARE in the right order - but I still end up with the representation of a letter.

Thanks, malone, that's interesting. It was the last two letters that were in the wrong order for me. Do you start with the third letter of 4d?

Yes, I started at 4 Down - my last two letters (in 14) seem fine.
