Thinking: Ardently - books = ARDE(nt)LY anag plus I = READILY, but that doesn't fit the clue. I've tried FERVE(nt)LY & H(ot)LY, but neither works.

Suspect it's Scandic, but CANNOT parse this.
Thinking: College = New? Peacenik - ac = peenik? Huh?

3d SCIATIC relates to the hip bone, so 'Hippy' would fit the definition.
