Doh, Jogamel!

I have the grid filled apart from 29d and have worked out what goes on with the shaded entries - but not got 21d yet.

29 D. Baby's violent wind leaving nothing to the imagination

The 'wind' is 7 letters and you drop the 'o', nothing. You'll have a word that means 'baby' (verb) and is also something a baby would need!

Nelson - look at your winds and knock off an 'o'

A hint would be helpful because I have only got half of the shaded areas: e.g. Need second half of 12a. 19d. 38a......

Help please with how the shaded work.... mostly filled in but no ideas how they connect....

In the first of the pair, the longer word is the grid entry plus a few letters at the end. In the second of the pair the longer word is the grid entry plus a few letters at the beginning.

Add the extra letters of the first to the extra letters of the second.
This gives the names of seven 'somethings'.

Kirky think of another three letter word for ate, and put this round a word for fat with last letter removed...
