Hello, folks. Turns out it was only half our village (unfortunately my half) that has been affected by some underground fault with electricity supply, which they still haven't identified. The powers that be (no pun intended) have just provided a large portable generator which is currently (again, no pun intended) connected to the substation round the corner.

Haven't started counting votes yet, but reckon there are 16 clues from 8 stalwart setters, although Ixion has not put forward his #12 as a contender. (Hope you have a wonderful vacation, Ixion, if that's what you're doing). Also, thanks, SteveA, for calling in, even though you're not competing, and hope whatever you're up to next week is equally wonderful.

With 6 out of 8 votes cast, every vote has been for a different clue, so everything very much up in the air. Paul and Ixion still to vote.

As I didnt actually submit a clue (but couldn't resist having a go anyway) I won't be voting....so looks like Paul is the decider.

I think that it's traditional for "just for fun" entrants to get a vote, ixion.

Ixion, just going on precedent, anyone contributing a clue is entitled to a vote, whether or not the clue has been submitted "just for fun", so feel free to vote. (Having been in the same position many moons ago, I asked what the rules were in that regard, and was told I could still "exercise my franchise.")
