Have not solved either.
But Kidney can mean sort or type.
To kid is to deceive and Urge = yen which is worked to make NEY.

May be too far fetched.

Wormy means dismal and so does blue.

OR = Chaps?
WMY are first letters of some of the words.

Again just guessing.

I've got Doomy, to make you blue. Do is cheat/chaps cheat, the other O is from the middle of 'thr O ugh' and My is well/well!

Thank you. I was playing with those words without much conviction.
Back to it.

It could also be doomy.
12A could be ending in O.
Although the answer I have needs parsing.

Sunray, the verse is very, very recent - published only in the last day or so!

For 5d, I think it's O my = well (usually oh my). 12a - a nog is a peg and O is the start of the word "out". I have assumed it is one of those without a definition.

Another possible parsing of 5dn.

Through in middle (=O) chaps (possible meaning "divides") cheat(=DO) and well (=MY) --> DOOMY
