Hi all

Very frustrating- I've filled grid, have theme and the 2 words to replace in the question but for the life of me can't see the 17 symmetrical cells to highlight.

Any kind soul out there who can enlighten me?

Thanks

Same here novice - it's a pun relating more obviously to the longer answer

I'm trying to find something to do with C/SEA and the LEGS in the grid, but can't spot it.

Nor do I fully get the wordplay to 16 down.

Rape is refuse from wine making.

Lose the a as extra and insert the I

I too think it's sea/c legs but can't see it either.

For some reason I'm really struggling with this one. Help with any of the long clues 1, 10, 13 and 23 much appreciated.

The denouement is frustrating. You are all on the right lines. Don't get too hung up on C/SEA though. Try thinking of examples
