I can see the balls sort of point somewhere but can't see the word to be erased and mixed up.

Help?

The six balls in a row point, lead to, touch something in the top right-hand corner - read down and across from the last letter of 4 Across.

Thanks does it leave real words in grid? How many letters am I looking for?

I have found this really hard going and I am still not quite over the finishing line. 4 down - Dropping cases regulated outside ( 4 ) is still eluding me and in the endgame is it only the six in a straight line which need to be filled in or do the four which are not quite on target need filling in as well? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you to all for the many hints. I am still finding it very dufficult to parse many of the answers despite all your best efforts. I am also not very good at distinguishing between the different types of clues....... because I can't parse properly. Would some kind person just tell me how many clues there are of each type please. Thank you again for all the help.
