Voting update:
With 13 of a possible 16 votes cast, the tally is

1 vote for stevea @8
2 votes for skyewalker @36
3 votes for skyewalker @27 and tatters @29
4 votes for ixion @34

With Paul, Busby and Ixion yet to vote any of these could be the winner.
I'll extend the deadline while I take my dogs out for a walk.

A late dash for Skyewalker gives a winning 5 votes for his heart-warming

It's said to have cockles, but certainly has mussels, I hear

Well done, Skyewalker, great clue.

Your prize is a tribute to the late Anthony Jay

Am I the only one who was surprised to learn that the heart does actually have cockles? Chiaro's alternative meaning of 'pluck' was also a new one for me. Thanks to all who contributed, I admire your combined ingenuity.

Cheers.
