If they have no thematic relevance apart from that feature I'm not impressed. After my last post I did some extensive searching on the internet and found the relevance of the cells with two letters, thus confirming my inkling of the theme, though even then something is not quite right. That lucky strike might prompt me to continue, but so far I've experienced nothing but frustration since completing the grid (which was largely straightforward).

37a) The mania for playing woodwind ornamental motifs (8)

25d) Robe cutter cut up former clothing article (6)
