2.Horticulturalist opens Eastern flower at home. (5) ?O???

3.Some officers hated others at first in a London area. (4) ??H?

4.Better magic starts up with a French flyer losing his tail. (7) ?A?B???

5.Shimmering ericaceous plant endlessly entwines around a map of London. (4, 4,) ???TH??E

3. Soho, London area - first letters in Some Officers Hated Others.
2. Rhine, flower (as in something that flows, a river). RH is horticulturalist, In/at home and the E at the start of ('opens') Eastern. NB. I think this is the Rhein in German, so it could have that spelling.
