Hello, Elle!
What a lovely evening here!
Glad your service went well!
I am afraid I am no help with your computer.
Get your daughter/s involved?
Is this a Windows update?
They can be problematic, I believe.
I am lucky with my chromebook, when Chrome do an update, all I have to do is switch my chromebook off, then switch on again, and that's it done.
Seems fairly simple and idiotproof.
A week today you have Roland Garros starting.
Live on ITV4.

Hi, Rusty!
We have had a massive thunderstorm here!
Well, there was an automatic Windows 10 update last night, but I do not know what happened?
My daughter had phoned whilst we were out at the funeral...but I shall not bother her about the computer tonight.
She will be tired after work, and will have had to cook dinner, and shortly get the boys to bed.
Maybe tomorrow?
The computer seems back to normal speed-wise..... but the printer remains "unrecognised".
All a mystery to me!
Didn't the French Open start today?
There is nothing in my TV guide for this week, because I had already checked.
But the tournament lasts still June 10th.....
It will be great if the second week is shown on ITV4!
Thanks for alerting me to that!
And after that, it won't be long till Wimbledon!
What with the Diamond Leagues and the tennis ...things are looking up!
And I still have yesterday's Great Manchester Run to watch!

Good evening, Elle!
There are several threads on Answerbank Technology about Windows updates not working properly.
May be worth having a look at them to see if they may be helpful?
I know I am glad to be away from Microsoft and Windows, everything is plain sailing on Chromebook.
I do not have a printer, though.
It is next Sunday the ITV4 Roland Garros starts.
It is the Lyon Open on just now.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been taking a look a look on Answerbank Technology...but couldn't find a relevant reference to a recent Windows 10 Update causing problems today?
Nor why the printer should suddenly be unrecognised by the computer?
It was certainly a good idea and worth a try though....
For the moment , I am just glad that the computer is now functioning, even if my printer isn't.....
Perhaps I shouldn't switch the computer off tonight, as it proved so difficult to reconnect several times this morning?
I am looking forward to the tennis!
Would you believe that EuroSport Player has the gall to keep emailing me about rejoining?
After all that hoo-ha last year?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine dry day here, though not very sunny!
No sign of a hatching yet, though the camera is focused in a close-up of the nest.
The eggs were unattended for quite a while last night, then Laddie turned up to incubate them.
Elle, I have seen umpteen posts on AnswerBank about glitches in Windows updates over the past year or two.
I would think the computer recognising the printer would be a fairly simple fix?

This any good?
I have a couple of things to do today.
But off to get my paper first!

good morning, Rusty!
A lovely day here - sunny and warm.
I am just home - it was beautiful out in the park.
There were a couple of goslings swimming on the lake with their mum.
That is wonderful news about the hatching of the first osprey chick!
I went straight to the webcam on first reading your post to have a look.....but Lassie must be sitting on the baby!
I shall check again shortly.
Very exciting!
My computer is fine this morning...back up to speed, and all is functioning well as far as I can tell, except for the connection to the printer.
(The printer itself is fine, and working independently)
Thank you for the link...I shall shortly read through it all, and see if I can follow the instructions !
I've bought a paper...so failing that can at least do the crossword!
What are you up to today?

Hello, Elle!
Why not Google "computer not recognising printer" and see the results?
Or do the same on YouTube?
I suspect it will be a simple solution.
It is warm here, too!
I have been awaiting a fish delivery from Laddie to see if the chick will be fed.
No joy yet.
My priority today is the Giro.
"The Bury lad" will lose time to Dumoulin, today, in the time trial, but how much?
His lead over Dumoulin is 2mins 11 secs, and he could lose that today, or a large chunk of it
Dumoulin is the best in the world against the clock, now that Cancellara has retired.
It will be fraught!
Fingers crossed for Simon!

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry for the long delay in replying.
I have not had access to the computer for the last few hours, because my husband has been trying to solve the problem of the non-recognition of the printer.
He has tried all sorts......following instructions on Google, as you kindly suggested.
But he couldn't get to the bottom of it!
It still remains a mystery, but we have finally resolved it by his producing a new printer!
(I had forgotten we had bought this some time back, as it was a good bargain)
It is now set up and working!
Easy -peasy!
No problem whatsoever!
All very strange....I cannot see why the previous one no longer functioned?
So...business as usual now ....it is surprising how often I do use a printer!
I have just seen the baby chick! He /she is so fluffy and cute!
No sign though of Laddie producing fish?
I hope the "lad from Bury" does well!
