Hello, Elle,
I surmise Mr Jingles turned back, for he has not landed here.
Glad he feels at home with you!
And it will be Christmas for him and his family, too, remember....?
I am fairly sure that the property was built as flats, many moons ago.
But your explanation is very helpful.
I sometimes watch "Homes Under the Hammer" and find that entertaining and educational.
The prices for London property are astonishing!
I am a bit adrift of you and Mr M and "says".
My "sez" is in Chambers, so I'd imagine a few folk pronounce it that way?

Good morning, Rusty!
Dreich and mild this morning!
The ground is extremely muddy......I brought home a very filthy dog!
However after my ministrations , she now looks reasonably presentable again!
Now for some good news!
Our friend and neighbour is recovering very well....and it appears that he is now thought not to have had a stroke but an epileptic attack.
What they call a "first seizure", and he will need to attend a special Neurology Clinic to deal with this.
But a much brighter outlook than first thought.
We are all feeling more cheerful this morning!
I have household jobs to do , so shall be in until our next walk.
What do you have planned for the day?
Dare I ask if you have heard from Dimplex?

Good morning, Elle!
That is better news regarding your neighbour.
Bit overcast here today.
I am off to see the nurse for a 'flu jab, in a few minutes, then going to purchase a wreath.
Not a peep from Dimplex. Useless bunch!
May phone a sparky tomorrow.
See you later!

Thank you for the eBay research, spot on, far better condition than mine. Right about the 'belties', my forefathers were from the very s/w of Galloway.

Hi, Rusty!
Are you home again? Have you been duly jabbed?
You left it quite late to have your flu jab, didn't you?
I think most people have one around the beginning of October?
( I don't bother with one as I have never had flu!)
Did you get your wreath?
We have bought ours ready to take to the crematorium - also a hyacinth plant to stand in the middle of the wreath.
It will anchor the wreath down and prevent its being blown away by any strong winds.
I had intended this morning to go down to the High Street to buy a new strap for my watch, but was deterred by the rain.
However, I shall have to face it now as it is time to take out the dog......
I hope you are having better weather!
Back in a bit!

Hello, Ninian
Glad you have found a replacement bovril spoon!

Hello, Elle!
That's me flu-jabbed.
Yes, I am late getting one.
Been patiently waiting on a letter inviting me for one but did not get a letter this year!
Got a fine wreath, too.
Will get fresh flowers at ASDA tomorrow, then on to the cemetery.
My cobbler replaces my watchstrap when I need one.
That is a lot of consecutive consonants in "watchstrap".
Weather is so-so.

Hello, Ninian.
Hope you find something on eBay.
I think the Belties are magnificent looking creatures!
Galloway is a nice part of the world.

Hi, Rusty!
We are home from our walk.
Still wet out!
I guess better late then never with your flu jab!
My husband didn't get a reminder letter, either, this year - I had to phone and make him an appointment (perhaps the NHS is saving money?)
I have been racking my brains to think what you were going to ask your practice nurse, when you went for your flu jab.........
I know there was something........could it be about the Shingles vaccination?
I know we were discussing this a while ago.
Did you remember?

Hello, Elle!
I asked my nurse about reminder letter but she did not know very much about it.
She blamed NHS, rather than the practice.
She told me to phone up at the start of October next time.
I think you may be right about shingles jab, but the nurse and me only discussed holly wreaths and steak pies.
She likes Pine Cone, too.
I am about to tackle the crossword.
The loch blog says they had a sighting of a male smew recently.
What in the name of the wee man, is a smew, I wonder?
Best check Chambers!

Hi, Rusty!
Okay.......now......holly wreaths I can follow (seeing as how you were about to buy one)...........
But how did steak pies come into the picture / conversation?
I shall endeavour to remind you to ask about the Shingles vaccination next time you go to see your practice nurse!
A pity I didn't think of that this morning!
I think , if I remember correctly, having needed to look up "smew" relatively recently, that it is a sort of merganser - a cross between a diving bird and a goose?
I could, of course, be wrong......
I am now going to wash my hair!

HI RUSTY

A smew is a small diving duck; quite an interesting word I think.
On Pointless just now they had 5 duck pictures to ID. I did know them, but then, I like birds! Rather beyond the ken of the man-in-the street, I would have thought.

However, one woman thought a country called Gaul, the largest in the EU , was the Netherlands. And she had travelled in the EU for work.
