Oh dear this has been very difficult indeed. paul's clue is (as usual) very witty and straightforward. ginge's clue is frankly very tricky to judge in that I think 'cream' is perhaps pushing it a bit as a synonym for E. However the whole thing is so brilliant that I have to agree with those who voted for it and award ginge the gong this week.

All middle letters, double cream = cream + cream.

Hi again rambler, I just thought it was only fair to all concerned to give you the option of changing your casting vote since it was based on reading my clue differently and now perhaps it doesn't compare as favourably.

W/with (Chambers)
EE double cream/ E45, Vitamin E etc
fuDge/ D in the middle

I feel a right clot because I should have seen it properly and the correct parse makes it watertight. Congrats again on a well-deserved win.
