Hi, everybody. Thanks very much for a really good response - if I've counted correctly we have (so far )twenty eight clue from sixteen setters. Voting starts at 1pm.

I was amazed at the quality and variety of clues for a short word. I particularly liked (in numerical order) jws @9, richardc @10 ,16 and 17, mattrom @20, fj @27, BBM2 @30 and rosalind @31.

However my favourite is:

paul @5

I liked chrise's (change of style) @ 2 however, paul @ 5.

Loved the short word with so many definitions!

A great word choice. So hard to choose from such a good selection but I have to go for
