Golf git. Will you help me with youth and skatip?

GTI sorry. I cannot find an author for either of the books so I wonder if I have got them right

The order of the titles is helpful, as indicated in the preamble. So is realising, as I did far later than I ought to have done, that the puzzle has nothing to do with Pink Floyd. Finally, more than usually, when one gets this, the answer turns out to have been quite literally hiding in plain sight!

I have all the authors and all the titles and know the theme; but I just can't quite finish this off. Can someone please help me with 44 (twice) and 45.

I struggled with those too! The mental switch one has to flick is the preconception about what's wordplay, and what's definition. One of the 44s has a particularly-sweet little mental curve-ball, in that respect. "Barque's cover", forsooth!

Falling asleep the anagram and hidden solution came to me. No one has told me that skatip is incorrect so assume it is right. I am wondering if the order of the titles has to do with dates of awards or something similar?
