Making hard work of last few, especially 23A.
I have all the letters apart from unches but can't get a two word entry. (I am assuming this is one of the themed entries).
Hints please?

23a is a regular solution and the def is language. A common synonym for edge and an abbreviation for over in the middle. I'm stuck on 2 other normal clues, 3d .. Kill jerk, having rejected church. 3 letters SI? Also 35d ... Smash rabbit with mark ( not coloured) 3 letters ?A?

The definition is kill, answer is a three letter slangish word. But, of course this has to be replaced.
I am also stuck on 35. Will post if I get anywhere.
