Thicky scrobe:

As a newcomer I am having trouble understanding the help you gave on 49d. Can you be a bit more helpful

The first part of the answer is an abbreviation for a three word term meaning mind reading.

The second part is a three letter word which is a synonym for skill.

"Old" in crosswords usually (but not always) means "O".

Finally the whole word is a type of grass.

Hope that helps.

PHILIP,

Sorry I'm so late in coming back, it was pantomime dresss rehearsal last night and this morning I was out at Brodick Castle with the garden volunteers having a huge bonfire. You may have already solved this one, but I'll give you a clue anyway:

11A Holy land crush isn't worrying Rodney (8,9)

There's an anagram in there indicated by the word "worrying" and you ned to think of a TV character.

This is getting so frustrating; my Christmas RT still hasn't arrived and it gets delivered by post for an efficient service(!) I'll have to stop reading this particular thread and miss out on all the (neologism coming up) wittitudes.

I quite agree. I also have mine sent by suscription, so next year I am moving to Aran where they obviously get a better service. I could also no doubt use my amateur dramatic skills in next years panto. So watch out John and tell the COOP that they will have to order 2 copies of the RT

John
Yes I did get it, and you obviously missed my reference to it in my last post

Sorry John, should have said ARRAN

Do you think they will still let me in?

Thanks John. I got there eventually

Is ARRAN an anagram, or does it really exist? Where on earth is it?
