GK - as I said, I though 22a by far the most difficult. It's hard to give a tiny hint, so here's a big one: think of a 10 letter word for "changeable" and take half of it.
(I think I was lucky to guess the answer, then parse it)
13d is generic, not a specific VIP

11a is only partially an anagram (2nd word; 1st word comes from something else)

No one else seems to be stuck on the same ones as I am!
7ac and 2d. According to the letters I have for 2d it`s Italian writing (plural). I can`t see any connection with
union or paper! Mags.

2d refers to the type of union that might occur in church!
