Shouldn't you save some of that stuff for New Year's Eve, pastille, or is there enough to last till then?

Hi, everybody, thanks for all the brilliant clues. At first I thought everyone was going to get one vote each and then a pattern emerged with les40, paul and mrw in the lead. At the moment les40 has four votes with mrw and paul on three each. cambs1990 and paul are the only two left to vote as the deadline approaches. jamoza has left a message on another thread for cambs1990 which he hasn't answered so he may not vote.

THEA: A dying old German is obsessed with a Polish boy- you know, the typical Weimar bedtime story.

My German tutor published a book on it that was far longer than the story itself. He too seemed obsessed.

It's past the deadline and Les has a one point lead and so is the winner with post #12

Frigid bird's demanding withdrawal method (4,6)

Well done, Les and well done mrw and paul.

I'm sure you know that John Lennon recorded a song called 'Cold Turkey' but it's far too bleak, especially at this time of year, so I've chosen another track which I hope everybody will enjoy.

Good phrase, rambler.

I hope you steered well clear of your tutor, then, aristo.

Well done Les - my second favourite (though there were lots of deserving efforts).

Thanks for the mention, mrw - we had goose for Christmas!
