Can we add this to the conspiracy theory about Jimmy Savile.....nothing to do with him being a vile paedophile, but more to do with how did such an untalented and unentertaining person have such a long tv career?

to be honest, i always found him extremely irritating and nothing would surprise me. But hey! i could say the same about noel edmonds. (we were still talking about phillip, right?)

Hi chrise, i am on hols in France at the mo. Thank you for yr follow up on '&lit' i can chat now but only spasmodically as bobs dad and i are chatting over a large bottle of Chablis. Bobs dad has just succeeded in blowing up our television here!!!!! Hence the talking-- no joke the tele has just gone boom.

At least phillip had an endearing side to him, unlike Savile. Jury's still out on Noel Edmonds (tho not in this house, can't bear him either.)
