hi RT'ers
Hope this finds you all well.
Just finished after 58 mins. I thought it was fairly easy, but the final two to fall were 5d and 16a because of an error I made in 6d. (putting "in" instead of "up" was not a good idea !) J

Hi Jazzgirl - I have finished it. Took me 57 mins (only kidding). I thought it was quite straightforward. The last one for me was 19d - had me stumped for a while. Very windy here

hello Jazzgirl and Chrisg. I did mine between interruptions, so can`t give a time. All done except 12 ac - I don`t know the first name. I
think I`ve worked out the surname. Don`t know many sports presenters! Sunny here but a cold wind. Mags.

Good Afternoon, All. Not too bad this week, apart from the posh word at 24 across. Hereabouts we lean on a folded up newspaper when doing any written work. It would be a bit pompous to say 'I must hie me to my e????????e, to write my bookie's line.

Hope all are well. The sun is shining and I am doing a credible impersonation of a lazy sod.

Best wishes.

P

Finished (should I say in 56 minutes? - actually two goes, a fairly fruitless first look, then a rapid finish after returning from the pub - liquid inspiration?)
However I can't parse 10ac Sentry to shift playing token (8)
(I assume the obvious answer is correct!)
Any explanation?

hi chrise
I took the parsing as shift = w***** (as in dogw**** on board ship etc.) last 3 letters a token (piece) used e.g. on a chessboard.
