I only got my RT this morning - very strange how differently we find it. I thought it easy today !! One of those where I fill in the answer then work out the reason. Wally - the answer to 10 ac is permanent because it is usually there for life. Mags.

Hello all. I am stuck on 1D With token, tried to shift black mark (9)and 7A Noisily nip to bay (5). There are of course others as well but with the hints already given I may be able to get on a bit!! If not, will come back for more help!! Am also stuck with 17D and I appear to have every second letter but Quick Solve can come up with nothing so I assume some of my letters are wrong.

Jazzgirl does the getting up early in the morning mean caching the dawn chorus in your garden?

I can never rememeber more than one number at once. 1dn the token is the sort that might go in a parking meter or similar, then an anagram of "tried"
