I had no problem with the clue.
Titian denotes both painter and colour.

Indeed I did, Les40. The clue came from I idea I had for a "Round Britain Quiz" question, along the lines of "Take a colour, add it to make a Mahler Symphony, add one more to make a painter". I adapted the wrong part for my clue yeserday.

Belatedly, then, I've though of a better clue for TITIAN
Colour it in, big boy - another one and you're a painter!

I'm sure there are racier clues, too
