Yes Jazzy BUT I don't see WHY (from the clue). There's no suggestion about removing the first letter from that unmarried girl, unless I'm missing it (and that's more than possible today, as you will have noticed)

"unmarried" = (M)---

The "unmarried" is used in the cryptic sense rather than the literal sense

Hi again Jazzgirl. Hope your tyune in here again (know you're out from 5@5).

Re 1D. I've another reason for thinking this is singular. "... a bit of money...". Chanvers D has bit = a coin. Chambers Thes has coin = bit. So it's possioble 1D ends in "A". I think you favour "I".

I'll be out tomorrow, so if you've any further idea on 1D I'll look in here tomorrow evening.

PS. It was easier than ususl, this month, eh?
