how many clashes altogether - they don't spell out april fool or some such do they??

I think you're right peterm...just noticed I've entered the 1ac/4dn but I've got two options....maybe it will make sense when all the options are known?

So do we go with the letters of April fool or discard them?? Where are the O & L to make up the FOOL?

The o is in 37ac and the l in 38ac.

I've got the same as you, bunty. What do you mean by "no clash"?

I'm a bit uncertain about 25dn. According to the footnote, it's supposed to be a "non-dictionary compound". The answer I've got isn't.

It was because you said the L of fool was in 38a??
