Are you sure he didn't say "waterboard"? Torkie does that too.

We have a runaway winner, djawhufc with:
In harmony with the headless Israeli musician (12), though I should note that rambler had an equal number of votes- for three different clues! Congratulations, djawhufc. Please collect your prize- this is someone who's clearly in the vanguard in the fight against senseless violins.

Ripostes are for fencing, and a waterboard is definitely not used in fencing. I think the Inquisition may be preparing a press release on the subject of waterboarding allegations as, in the 21st century, the use of this technique is usually confined to the interrogation of priests accused of child abuse, so only gets used once every week or so. Ah! for the old days.

Aristo, one question that I'm inquisitive about is where the inspiration for the word to be clued came from.

Who doesn't find accordions inspiring? Gary Larson, of "The Far Side", once had a cartoon with the caption (beneath a split frame) "Welcome to heaven. Here's your harp." "Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion." You mean you've never thought of using one, Torkie?
