You're confused by "ravishing"??
Perhaps you need a little talk with Julian and Sandy.
Have spent all week making Ninky Nonk cake so not able to even think about Fee Fi Fo Fum....

I thought everybody would be tired of J and S and they had become annoying.

rambler: I don't know who Julian and Sandy are but I find their persistent reappearance hilarious. I've been tempted to google them but I'm afraid of what might come up (so to speak).
pastille: I'm mystified by your mystification. You've always struck me as the ravishing type. :)

Well done aristo. I get the Margaret Mead reference, but not T-Mobile (who oddly, are my mobile providers...)

Aristo-
I'm tempted to write a couplet starting "Fee Fi Fo Fum, I smell...." but will desist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZL4rTEWU5c tells all, at rather too great a length it seems to me now.
I was completely [mystified/i] at the time (1960s)!

There's a handy glossary included here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polari

If that filmed journey down the Kings Road had continued for another couple of minutes it would have reached World's End where I lived and worked for a few years in the seventies. Lots of happy memories, but sad to see that The Chelsea Drugstore is now a McDonalds!

Bullfrog: The "documentary" (penda's prize) is a T-Mobile ad.
Rosalind and B: I'm enlightened now.
Rosalind: Almost everyone was mystified in the 1960s. The (very funny though puerile) American columnist Dave Barry once wrote that if you remember the sixties you didn't experience them.
