I never would have gotten right enough. I've certainly heard Brits use the expression (when I think about it), but no one over here does. How do you get fiddle, Torkie?

Fiddle means fix and is a raised rim around a table, usually seen at sea to prevent liquids sliding off the table in a swell (hence, wardroom table).
