Intrigued,I looked up my paper copy of Chambers (2000). Sure enough it's beriberi.

I usually use Chambers on CD ROM (20030 where it's beri-beri.

One wonders why they would change it, as beriberi seems just fine?

Methinks we'll 'inter' this one with my sound beret.
