I'm with AB, but I couldn't get 2. Good clues, as always.

My apologies, Jolan. In my anxiety to type correctly (wish I was quick, Tony, so often quick for me means garbage) I forgot to thank you for another great set of clues.

Another Loki-esque exercise, Jolan. I trust you're pleased with yourself. :)

1. anag(exceptionally) of “illusedoldgun” – “gold” = UNSULLIED = pure.
2. homophone(taken in) of ‘beret’ = beri. Twice = BERI-BERI = complaint.
3. containment (.... used to keep the .... in) . last of water = R. Stoppers = TAPS. Drums = T(R)APS.
4. Cryptic. leg = STOCKING FILLER = additional present. (it’s in Chambers and the CODict = a small present for a Christmas stocking. In USA = a stocking stuffer). Neither Chambers or C.O.D give (Brit).
5. Charade. mark = TAG. soon = ANON. ink stylograph messiness leads = I S M. friction = AN(TAG)ON + I + S + M

'Taken' as homophone indicator? Sneaky, Jolan :)

My 1,3,5 seem to be correct but I could not get 2 or 5 after struggling all afternoon with them.

No, it's not a homophone.

"taken in" = heard = homophone indicator.

Chambers gives pronunciation of "beret" as ber'i or berret

And pronunciation of "beri-beri" as ber'i ber'i

Identical.

...and here are the results from me, in the southeast: nil !!
But I am impressed with the clever clues Jolan and just as impressed with those who solved them.
