Good morning! Herewith, this week's five. A bit more difficult than usual? I always regret saying this! LOL

I set crossies just for pleasure. I wonder if some of you excellent regulars would like to try a few of my clues? Since they're new, no letters!

Please withhold solutions till 5 pm (GMT) to allow others to have a go.

1. Pure gold's extracted from exceptionally ill-used old gun (9)
2. Identical caps taken in disorder (4-4)
3. Stoppers used to keep the last of water in drums (5)
4. Leg additionally presented at Christmas time? (8,6)
5. Mark in soon with ink stylograph. Messiness leads to friction (10)

Yes- got the first one right off but have to mull over the others. The answer that immediately comes to mind for 2 can't be right...but then you're a devious one.

If I've got 3 correct I think you will have to think laterally because of language differences (again!)

You may struggle on 4 for the same reason.

Another notch- for 3.

AQER: Thought it was obvious, but now not so sure. Are you playing head games? :)

No- I'm only confident on 1 and 4 and think 3 may be correct. I've not cracked 2 or 5 but I'm no expert.

I'm pretty confident about 1, 3 and 5. struggling with 2 and 4 but enjoying the challenge. Thanks Jolan.
