Well done jws,

All are worth 22 points except Sudoku which is 11 points (half of the rest)
Scrabble uses Tiles

The clue "Cryptic Clue" I said could be picked up by a nitpicker so it's theoretical. The reason being that there are only two letter C's in a standard scrabble game.

Now for the clue in post 1 which was sat there all the time.

If you read the first 12 words of the post as a cryptic clue from the beginning up to the word extra, and closing the clue at close (not using the word close), you will see that this gave a major pointer to the answer.

For jws

S=1, U=1, D=2, O=1, K=5, U=1.

aristo,

I'm just playing with double meanings now

looking at the clue in post one, maybe in hindsight I could have worded it better at the start.
Maybe this would work better.

This word game starts with six clues....

That would make it a more fair cryptic clue to the pointer

I see it now, of course, but wonder whether you've been attending THEA's services. Whoa. :)

aristo,

I assure you I've not used THEA's services,

What are you implying my friend?

THEA is a priest who creates astoundingly convoluted puzzles. I've teased him about the looks people in the pews must have when he tells them to note the last letter of the second word of each Psalm verse and...so forth.
