I think maybe the clue is "reading across" ?

Is the hint about Pink Floyd to do with the Dark Side of the Moon? e.g Something that is hidden?

it's a roofing material that would give you a clue.
Thing is, you most probably need the clue in post 1 to marry up a "water proof" pointer towards the answer.
