I am SO jealous. This looked wonderful but daunting, and I've been utterly swamped (I've even got jury duty!). I'm impressed, THEAMBLER and phillip. Peace and goodwill. +

Hello THEAMBLER, I've got to hand it to you, you compile a mean puzzle. I think it's a great pity that more people don't have a go at solving them. Thanks very much for this one. I think I'll bow out now.

Congratulations,Philip, and Thea, many thanks! I'm sure I speak for a few others when I say it was very difficult:after hours of brainracking I got about half, but even with the solutions could not follow all the reasoning.Even worse, it's not clear to me how to proceed to Step Three:do you mean the remaining letters in the alphabet for each section? Furthermore it is impossible via google to fathom your reference to the music:I'm neither a classical fan nor UK resident,so it remains quite incomprehensible. And how on earth does your latest tip fit in?Seriously, the ideas were very interesting, but the formulations possibly just a little bit too cryptic, don't you think? Even if I'm the only one left who refuses to give up completely,I think (in fact I'm sure) you'll have to give "us" (?!) a further tiny tip!Despite everything I admire your originality, though!

Great puzzle Thea, and well done Phillip
I have only been watching from the sidelines and could not even begin to solve any. I echo what greedykite has said in regards to the complexity of the last part. So I will be intrigued to see the result, and amazed at the person who solves it.
I'm sure there are many others who have been absorbed by this, but have not posted.

Sorry, on re-reading GK's post that must have been fairly obvious!

Could he be saying "NO L" ?
