Thanks TJ, I see it now.

I must admit that I do feel a bit sorry for Matty and his/her (probably) genuine questions. Such shabby treatment on that site! It would never happen here, would it??

And I was wondering if there was only one of them that wasn't a French speed limit. This is all far too clever for me. I'll go back to sleep now.

Matty

If you look at the numbers as decades of the 20th century, FORTY is the odd one out as it is the only decade when Cliff Richard did not have a hit single. Just a thought.

I shall just have to take it on the chin! The question is genuine enough but perhaps just not thought through sufficiently. Thank you everyone for your comments.

Hi Matty.

I hope you aren't too offended, since we aren't really malicious (as John d'Arran pointed out, just smug ... and - I'd like to add - playful).

Good luck picking an answer for your question though!

Play safe :)

I think that at long last I have solved this question. Bees put me on the right track(or I should say road).
The answer is 70 and the reason is that there is no M70 in the UK but there is an M40 M50 M60 M80 &M90.
Please tell me that I am right Matty.

Joker - thank you very much, that does seem to be a wholly reasonable answer. This quiz does not need to be in until the beginning of August, by which time I'll be in Scotland for several weeks, not back until mid-September. I'll try to remember to post the answer when I get back. Thanks again.

We do have postboxes in Scotland and at the moment still use the same stamps as in England!
Anyway enjoy yourself while you are up here.

Sorry Matty misread your post completely. Ignore my remarks apart from enjoying yourself while up here.
