Let's see how long we can keep this one going ..

When spelt out, 40 is the only word with an 'r' in it.

Or is it 80, which is the only one containing an 'h'?

Just out of interest, could the original poster tell us the context of the question? That way we might be able to channel our collective smug stupidity in a more cohesive manner. ;-)

Another reason to choose 60 is because it is the only one with a prime number on either side. Both 59 & 61 are prime. Any other offers?

how about 40 s it's the only number when spelt out the does not contains a roman numeral

I like that idea Helena!

But ...

What about 80?

It's the only number there with horizontal symmetry (i.e. the top half is a mirror image of the bottom half).

If you try thinking outside the box and ask why 20 & 30 AREN'T included, Trevor's suggestion about adding 'ty' to the end of a number makes sense (obviously taking into account the fact that the question-setter can't spell forty).

Or not.
