Clue: Porridge,having a smell taken in by father.
Can only put PAVONIA... P......A (pa father) and a bit of aroma.
Any help please?

I think it could be POLENTA
but that would make your "V" wrong.

OLENT = fragrant (a long time ago).

I think it might be POLENTA (although this would mean your V is wrong). 'Olent' means 'scented'.
