Sorry Ixion! Hadn't read the previous posting to Rab's. Didn't realise R wuz being slightly droll. You're never smug.

In reply to Ixion in particular, it certainly wasn't my intention to spoil anybody's sense of achievement, and I humbly apologise if I appeared to have done so. The Spectator is a crossword I look forward to every week, and usually enjoy, but I guess I'm just not a fan of the "Hidden Anagram" style of puzzle. The answers are all there in front of you, and all you need to do is keep grinding away till you find them. Not as much room for satisfying moments of inspiration as the more usual cryptic style. Anyway, I wish well to those who are enjoying it more than I did. Everyone to his own tastes.

No worries hypotheses - I sort of know what you mean - not many laughs(apart from perhaps 1D which did amuse me for some reason)or eureka moments - but I think it was enjoyable of its type with the hidden jumbles far from obvious and you must admit the overall construction was good...

by the way PDM?

Glad you've all kissed and made up - I love reading the feedback. I'm finding this week less troublesome than last week - just a matter of slogging through it.

Ixion
PDM is shown in the URBAN DICTIONARY as having 5 meanings.
None of these seem relevant to me,but one may seem so to you.
