I used to enjoy doing the skeleton a few years ago, and then they must have changed the compiler and I found I couldn't get started. I agree an explanation each week would help.

The explanation for this particular clue, which I have already given, seems perfectly simple to me. Lynda is a girl's name, and it is an anagram of Dylan, a boy's name. The foreign in the clue refers to an anagram.

Hi folks...It's an anagram of LADY & N (abbreviation of AND)... nowt to do with Lynda.
Now I wish I was as certain about several more unfinished clues today. Paul

all due respect,AJT
but to guess the name Lynda from the word "Lady" is a bit of a stretch to say the least.
Your explanation seems to rely on already knowing what the answer is.
I don't do the skeleton but that would seem an unfair clue by most standards.

Geordie Pauls "n" = And,(Rock n Roll etc)seems better.

Sorry Trevor - you're absolutely right. I wasn't thinking straight, and was working backwards from Dylan, which seemes a given. Mea culpa.
