Did you know that advert was based on a particular scene from a 1966 film where Audrey Hepburn plays a character called Nicole? I didn’t, I just read it!

I didn't know that Jono but, now you mention it, the advert did have a definite Hepburn vibe to it.

I think if it had been Audrey Hepburn I might have been more inclined to buy a Renault Clio but that might just be me.

I should also add that 13d reminded me of a line from Ernie by Benny Hill. But I can't say it due to spoiler.

Hi Stargull,
17d uses the same trick for the first four letters that 1d does. Then it’s one letter English in two letters spin.

Apparently the actress playing Nicole couldn't drive and the action scenes were filmed on a car transporter!! 15a is the only clue eluding me, I'm sure it's obvious, I have crossers I and S, can anybody give me a nudge?

I think that’s an urban myth, Neville17! At any rate, Estelle Skornik claims it was untrue.

The one pelted is a small furry thing …

Hi Neville, perhaps read “one pelted” as “one having a pelt”. The rest is as you’d expect.
